近年来，开利一直加大在中国的投资，不断扩大市场地位。2004年10月，开利投资1500万美元在中国最大的合资企业上海一冷开利空调设备有限公司设立了全球压缩机中心。2005年4月底，开利在上海浦东举行了开利全球研发中心的奠基仪式，从而使开利在中国的投资达到1.75亿美元。该中心在2008年全面投入使用。包括该中心在内，开利公司计划今后几年内在中国的研发投入达到5000万美元。

In recent years Carrier has substantially increased the investment in China to expand its presence in the local market. In 2004, Carrier opened a US$15 million compressor center in Yileng Factory, which is Carrier's largest joint venture in China. In April 2005, Carrier held a groundbreaking ceremony for its global research and development (R&D) center in Shanghai's Pudong area. Carrier has projected that it intends to spend an additional US$50 million in China during the next few years on R&D, including this center.
